Your work matters to God because He is the one who gave you the ability to do it. Business is not a distraction from your calling. For many of us, it is the calling. When you work with integrity and serve people well, your business becomes an act of worship.
The Sacred And The Secular Are Not Two Worlds
Many Christians quietly believe that ministry is holy and business is not. The Bible does not split life that way. God gave Adam work to do before anything went wrong. Your desk, your shop, and your spreadsheet are places you can honour God just as truly as a pew.
